Technical Author

Established in 1975, SYSPAL are leaders in the design and manufacture of Stainless Steel and Aluminium equipment for Food Processing & Pharmaceutical. SYSPAL are an exceptionally well resourced and highly regarded British manufacturer with many innovative products specified domestically, and internationally.

The position of Technical Author is focussed on the production of instruction manuals and associated documentation for materials handling machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Discussing the operation of machinery with the project and design engineers and participating in machine testing
  • Writing the operating instructions for the machine, with assistance from the technical author and designer
  • Producing illustrations and spare parts drawings for the instruction manuals based on existing 3D CAD models

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Very good communication skills and the ability to produce customer-facing documents to a high standard
  • An understanding of basic mechanical and electrical principles
  • An understanding of the relationship between technical documentation, product safety and regulatory requirements
  • Applicants must be able to work systematically using the more advanced functionality of MS Word, such as using stylesheets and templates
  • Experience with desktop publishing software is an advantage
  • Experience with 3D CAD is an advantage

Job Type: Full-time

Hours: 08.00 – 17.00 from Monday – Thursday and 08.00 – 12.45 on Friday.

You will be expected to work additional hours as necessary to complete duties


IT Technician

A great opportunity has arisen for a local expanding Engineering / Manufacturing Company.  The role requires someone who is eager to operate in a very ‘hands on’ capacity, as well as being keen to further their skill set. Working with the Senior IT Technician you will maintain all technology and support their expanding business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide end-user training and instruction to improve computer operation
  • General ERP enquiries and updates
  • Printer support including driver maintenance and upgrades
  • Maintenance of and general work with CRM system
  • Land line / mobile phone communications maintenance and support
  • Troubleshoot and resolve end user IT problems via telephone, e-mail, helpdesk and in person in a courteous and professional manner
  • Supporting Production by way of maintaining stock systems
  • Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications.
  • Performing regular, scheduled preventative maintenance on IT equipment, including the checking and cleaning of laptops, workstations, printers, and peripherals.
  • Test fixes to ensure problem has been adequately resolved
  • Hands on installation of cables, CCTV
  • Perform post-resolution monitoring and follow-ups to ensure employee satisfaction and evaluate documented resolutions to analyse for trends to identify future problems.

Education and Experience:

  • Must have experience working in and supporting a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of computer hardware, including PCs, laptops
  • Experience with desktop and server operating systems, including Windows 7 & 10, Server 2008 ,2012 & 2016
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft SharePoint
  • Experience with VPN technology and antivirus, antispyware and disk encryption security technologies.
  • Exposure to Active Directory
  • Hyper-V exposure would be essential
  • Strong documentation skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to absorb and retain information quickly
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Occasional out of hours support work will be required

Welder / Fabricator

Syspal are currently looking for an experienced Welder / Fabricator to join their team at the state of the art manufacturing facility situated in Broseley, Telford.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting directly to the team leader working within a highly motivated team
  • TIG and MIG welding stainless steel and aluminium products to a very high standard
  • The ability to weld a diverse range of material thicknesses ranging from 1mm - >20mm
  • Involvement in the continuous improvement of the manufacturing methods and techniques
  • Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping within the department
  • Compliance with the companies health and safety policies and procedures
  • Use of power tools and air tools, including; grinders, drills etc.

Personal Specification

  • Good timekeeping and attendance, reliability and commitment
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • A positive attitude towards work and an excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to work on your own initiative to solve problems
  • The ability to work within a team and be a flexible team player

Skills Required

  • Time served apprentice or experience of working within a fabrication environment
  • Experience in the welding/fabrication of food processing equipment (preferred)
  • The ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
  • TIG welding (3 years preferred)
  • MIG welding (preferred but not essential)
  • Fabrication skills

Regional Sales Coordinator

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Regional Sales Coordinator to join our growing sales team. As a Regional Sales Coordinator you will be responsible to the Internal Sales Manager.

Your Key Duties will be as follows:

  • Communicate effectively with the field sales team to coordinate their quotes and orders
  • Dealing with customers and processing their queries
  • Liaising with the relevant departments throughout the business i.e. sales, production etc. to satisfy customer requirements
  • Proactive telesales activity, particularly to new and existing customers
  • Follow up weekly and monthly mailshots
  • Updating of CRM
  • Providing quotations to customers specifications
  • Chasing Quotes
  • Sales Order Processing
  • Forecasting Monthly & Quarterly Input
  • Maintenance of Quotation Log
  • Typing quotes & other correspondence when required
